Book your private transfer from CUN to Tulum
Tulum is the farthest stop we cover out of Cancun Airport transportation, and the drive shows it. Depending on traffic and the time you land, plan for close to two hours on the road, most of it on the coastal highway that runs south past Playa del Carmen and Akumal before turning inland toward Tulum Centro. A private transfer takes the guesswork out of that stretch. Your driver tracks your flight, waits at arrivals with a sign, and drives you straight to your hotel in one vehicle—no shared shuttle stops, no waiting for other passengers to be dropped off first.

From Cancun Airport to Tulum
From Cancun International Airport, the drive south follows the Riviera Maya corridor along Highway 307. You'll pass the turnoffs for Playa del Carmen and Puerto Aventuras, then continue through Akumal before the highway starts curving toward Tulum. The last stretch into Tulum downtown runs past the turnoff for the beach zone and archaeological site before reaching the town itself.
Traffic is usually lightest early in the morning and heaviest in the late afternoon, particularly near Playa del Carmen, where local traffic mixes with tourist buses. Our drivers know the corridor well enough to adjust timing and, when needed, take alternate routes around known bottlenecks. Construction along sections of the highway has added time to some trips in recent years, which is part of why we plan the drive at close to two hours rather than promising a tighter window.
Hotels we serve in Tulum and the surrounding hotel zones
We provide direct, non-stop private transfers to every hotel, boutique eco-resort, and luxury villa throughout Tulum in the downtown. Below are a few of the top properties we service daily:
How to book
Booking takes a few minutes. Send us your flight number, arrival date, and the number of passengers, along with your hotel name. We confirm pickup details by email or WhatsApp once your flight is scheduled to land, and the driver adjusts automatically if your flight is delayed—no extra charge; no need to call anyone from the airport.
For the return leg, we ask for your departure hotel and preferred pickup time, usually calculated backward from your flight time with a buffer for the two-hour drive plus check-in at the airport. If your round trip dates change, just let us know and we'll update the schedule.
Frequently asked questions
Does this Tulum route cover Tulum Centro, the beach road, and resorts north of town?
Yes. The route page covers several different Tulum-area locations, including Tulum Centro, beachfront properties such as Be Tulum, and larger resorts north of town such as Hilton and Conrad. The exact hotel name is essential because those destinations use different final roads even though they share the longer airport corridor.
Should the return pickup be based on hotel checkout time or on my flight?
Base it on the departure flight. The drive back to Cancun is long enough that highway traffic and the final approach from the hotel can materially affect timing. Work backward from the flight and keep a normal airport check-in buffer instead of choosing pickup only from the hotel checkout hour.
Can we request a short rest stop during the drive to Tulum?
Yes. The route is close to two hours, and the page notes that drivers can make a quick stop when needed. If you are traveling with young children, older relatives, or anyone who may need a restroom break, mention it in advance so the stop can be handled without turning it into an unplanned delay.
Is Be Tulum reached by the same final road as Hilton or Conrad Tulum?
No. Hilton and Conrad sit north of Tulum near Highway 307, while Be Tulum requires the final approach along the narrower Tulum-Boca Paila beach road. That difference is why the hotel name should be included in the reservation rather than using only “Tulum” as the destination.
