TULUM AND XEL HA PRIVATE TOUR (LOW SEASON)

Archaeological Water Eco-Parks

Description

Combine two of the Riviera Maya's signature experiences in one private day: the Tulum ruins and the all-inclusive natural park of Xel-Há. Begin at the archaeological site overlooking the Caribbean, then continue to the inlet for snorkeling, swimming, jungle trails, and water activities. The contrast between Tulum and Xel-Há is what gives this combination its appeal. The first part of the day is centered on stone architecture, Maya history, and an exposed coastal setting; the second is spent in water, shade, and tropical vegetation.

Moving from the archaeological site to the natural inlet keeps the itinerary varied and gives families or mixed-interest groups something cultural and something recreational. It also avoids using separate vacation days for two attractions located in the same region. A certified guide in Tulum and premium activities at Xel-Há can be added for an additional cost. Keep a full day, approximately 9 hours, available for the tour.

Choose this combination when the group wants one cultural highlight and one relaxed water experience without dedicating separate vacation days to each. Tulum should receive focused time first, while Xel-Há works as the less structured second half for swimming, food, and rest. The private vehicle improves transfer flexibility, but the two-stop day is still long; families should keep swimwear accessible and avoid scheduling premium park activities too close to the agreed departure.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why does this combination normally visit Tulum before Xel-Há?

Starting at the ruins helps guests walk during the cooler part of the day and leaves the afternoon for swimming, meals, and relaxation. The order also avoids arriving at Tulum in wet clothing after visiting the water park.

Is the federal tax for Tulum included in the tour package?

No. The federal site tax (approximately $295 MXN or $15 USD per person) and any optional video recording fees are collected in cash directly at the Tulum archaeological site entrance.

Can non-swimmers still enjoy the Xel-Há portion of the combo?

Yes. They can use dry trails, relaxation areas, food venues, hammocks, and selected shallow or life-jacket activities. Anyone uncomfortable in open water can enjoy the all-inclusive buffet and scenery.

Is it realistic to add a premium Xel-Há activity after visiting Tulum?

It can be, provided the activity time is available and does not conflict with your private return transfer. Reserve early upon arriving at Xel-Há and confirm timings with your driver.
